Since 1977, J. J. Gumberg Co. has served as the professional manager for more than 22 million square feet of retail property. This includes the acquisition, development or redevelopment of nearly 14 million square feet in multiple states, including North Dakota, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Michigan, of which more than 7 million square feet were for its own portfolio. As of December 31, 2009, Gumberg’s own portfolio encompassed roughly 15 million square feet of gross leasable area with more than 1,000 select retailers with aggregate annual sales in excess of $2 billion.

Gumberg properties host many of the world’s largest department stores, such as Walmart, J.C. Penney, Sears, Target, Kohl’s, as well as other retail category leaders such as Home Depot, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Jo-Ann Stores and Staples.

Through a well-balanced tenant mix, Gumberg properties continually sustain steady sales growth and maintain an occupancy level of nearly 100 percent – a testament to the market share dominance found throughout the company’s portfolio.
